Company Info:
Company is a leading international manufacturer of electronic components. The Integrated Circuit Business Unit (ICBU) of this global corporation, which markets & sells primarily ASICs, MCUs, LCD Controllers, and other electronic components, is currently in search of a Regional Sales Manager to work out of their San Jose, CA office.

Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM):
•Manages regional sales through manufacturing representatives & distributors within the territory.
•Must be able to direct manufacturer rep firms and drive sales both directly and thru distribution.
•Must be a technical and informational resource to customers and ensure a timely response to customer needs.
•Must have knowledge of and experience selling ICs & semiconductors, specifically ASICs, MCUs, LCD controllers and electronic components.
•Must be familiar & comfortable working in a multi-cultural s etting, specifically a Japanese business culture.
•Must have effective communication skills and be able to explain complex ideas in a concise manner.
•Must be a professional with high standards and ethics.
•Must possess strong relationship building skills.
•Must have strong technical expertise in the IC area (microprocessors, microcontrollers, LCD controllers, USB)

Essential Functions:
•Identify new business opportunities at both existing and potential accounts, and work closely with Manufacturer's Reps and Product Marketing to win new designs. Major products include ASICs, MCUs and LCD controllers.
•The position reports to the Area Sales Manager and is responsible for developing and closing sales opportunities per an assigned sales quota. Additional duties include generating ongoing territory sales forecasts, managing outside sales representative and distributor teams, as well as working cross-functionally with marketi ng and engineering.
•Coordinates and implements sales plan strategies consistent with Company's objectives to ensure the Company meets / exceeds its sales goals and maximizes market penetration and profits.
•Be a technical and informational resource to customers and ensure a timely response to customer needs.
•Provide the executive management team with market and sales data; identify current and future opportunities and understand the competitive landscape.
•Communicate the needs, concerns and requirements of the customers to others at the Company. Develop innovative resolutions to problems that are both compatible with the goals and objectives of the Company, as well as meets the expectations of the customer.
•Provides monthly reports, sales forecasts, program management summaries and both internal as well as customer correspondence to ensure appropriate communication of program status and needs.
•Negotiates & reviews product pri cing and margin analysis in order to maximize revenue goals and objectives.
•Approximately 25% travel required.
•Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Knowledge of sales and rep management for semiconductor products.
•Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
•Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
•Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
•Ability to work in a Japanese / American cultural setting (very important).
•Ability to work with minimal supervision.


Education & Experience:
MS/BS in Electrical Engineering or related scientific field and 7+ years of semiconductor sales experience, including working with Independent Rep organizations. ASIC and microcontroller experience preferred.
Compensation:
Base salary in the $110 – 120K range with bonus up to 40% (bonus consists of MBOs, Quota Attainment goals, and Design Win goals). Includes all expenses, car allowance, and full comprehensive benefits package.
